To say the last few years have been challenging is an understatement. From the pandemic and losing loved ones, to wildfires and now inflation. According to Oregon Food Bank, preliminary data indicates a 14% rise in the number of people seeking food assistance in our Oregon and SW Washington since March 2022. As prices on necessities surge, so does hunger – and the people already living on too little income have less purchasing power. They also estimate 1 in 8 Oregonians – including 1 in 6 children – will experience food insecurity at some point this year and while Oregon Food Bank has done a tremendous job trying to help provide access to food for many families, the challenges they face are immense.
This #GivingTuesday, we’re hoping to help. As a local, Oregon startup we will be providing in-kind product donations for the Oregon Food Bank Network, and plan to donate a percentage of our online sales on Tuesday November 29, 2022 (Giving Tuesday) to support the Oregon Food Bank and their mission to eliminate hunger and its root causes. If you’re interested in helping our donation, go further, we encourage you to mark your calendars and purchase puffs on this date. Every little bit helps!
About Oregon Food Bank
The Oregon Food Bank seeks to eliminate hunger and its root causes… because no one should be hungry. We cannot eliminate hunger without eliminating the root causes of hunger. That’s why we work across systems to achieve our mission, and why we center racial and social justice in everything we do.
